Oakville Hockey Club since 1974 is Oakville High School's official club teams. Players start from 7th grade and play through Varsity.

Phil Jacquot is in his first year as the Varsity Head Coach for the Oakville Hockey Club. As an Oakville Hockey Alumni himself, this is what drove him to take on the role of Head Coach for the JV Hockey team last season. Phil has a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Mississippi where he was a member of the Ole Miss Hockey Club. While working on his Master’s Degree at Ole Miss, he took on the role of an Assistant Coach then Interim Head Coach for the Ole Miss Rebels Hockey Club. He is currently in his 5th year working as a Special Education Teacher.

Brendan Nichting is in his third year as an assistant coach for the varsity team. Brendan is an Oakville Hockey Alumni, who played 5 years for the program and graduated in 2013. Since high school Brendan has acquired his bachelors in business administration from Lindenwood University. While attending Lindenwood University, Brendan played for the Lindenwood Ice Hockey D2 program. After graduating in the spring of 2017, Brendan accepted a job with the Boeing Company as a Procurement Agent and has been with the company for two years. 



Luke Harashe is in his first year of coaching altogether, he will serve as an assistant coach under Phil Jacquot on the varsity team. Luke played for Oakville for 6 years and played on every team Oakville has to offer. Luke played on the C team, B team, junior varsity, as well as the varsity team. Outside of playing for Oakville he also played on AA and AAA teams since he was 4 years old. Luke is currently going to college and he plans on getting a degree in hospital administration. Luke has said the reason he wants to be a coach at Oakville is to give back to the club that made him a better hockey player and a better person. 

Junior Varsity


Brett Barczewski is in his second year of coaching. He will serve as an assistant coach on Varsity, as well as the Head Coach of JV. Brett is an Oakville Hockey alumni, who graduated in 2011. Following high school, Brett played two years of junior hockey, one with the St. Louis Frontenacs of the Great Lakes Hockey League, and the other with the Bozeman Icedogs of the American West Hockey League (now part of the NA3HL). Brett has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management, as well as a Masters in Business Administration from Lindenwood University. Brett is a cancer survivor after being diagnosed with Leukemia in 2013. He is now 3 years removed from treatments. Brett works for the St. Louis Blues as their Media Content Coordinator in the PR/Media Relations field. He deals mostly with the St. Louis/National Media, as well as prepare the game notes for each Blues game. Brett took on coaching because of his love for the game and the Oakville Hockey family. 



Luke Hassler is in his second year coaching, and first year with the JV team. Luke wore the Oakville sweater 5 years previously before graduating in 2013 and heading off to the University of Missouri. At Mizzou, Luke obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. While attending Mizzou, Luke played 2 years of hockey at the ACHA D2 level. After graduation, Luke acquired a job at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis as a Sr. Java Web Developer and has worked there for over a year now.

B Team

Mick O'Halloran - B TEAM HEAD COACH

Coach O’Halloran enters his 19th season with Oakville, where he continues to serve as the Head Coach for the developmental team. The St. Louis native started his coaching career back in 1987 when he returned home from his stint with the United States Marine Corps and Navy. Since 1987, he has coached youth hockey with the Affton Americans, Meramec Sharks and the Bismarck, North Dakota Youth Hockey Association.

In his spare time, Coach Mick and his wife Lisa (a former Oakville Hockey Cheerleader), enjoys scuba diving, swimming, hiking, snowshoeing, downhill as well as cross-country skiing. He has been a resident of Oakville since 1994 and loves his adopted hometown.

Coach O’Halloran has a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication from the University of Central Missouri (formerly Central Missouri State University) in Warrensburg, MO.



Coach Zac Schmidt is a 2010 Oakville graduate and Varsity Tiger Hockey Alumni. Upon graduation from OHS, Coach Schmidt attended Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. Coach Schmidt earned a roster spot and competed for the Ice Bears Hockey team throughout his college years. Coach Schmidt graduated with Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Criminology on May 2014, and a Masters degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice in May of 2016.   

Coach Schmidt began his coaching career in 2012 by coaching a learn to play hockey class in Springfield, MO for young kids brand new to hockey. Along with this class, he was also the assistant coach for the Springfield Varsity High School hockey team for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. Coach Schmidt also was the assistant coach for the Missouri State DIII Ice Hockey team for the 2016-17 season before moving to St Louis. 

In August of 2017 Coach Schmidt accepted a position as a Police Officer with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Coach Schmidt enjoys traveling abroad, playing all sports, and he tries to be at the Lake of the Ozarks as much as possible with his girlfriend, friends, and family. 



Coach Rusty Boone returns for his third season as a B Team assistant coach.  Coach Boone played with Fox Warriors from 2001-2004 season.  The club folded up after 2004 season and then was drafted out of the pool by Mehlville.  Coach Boone played in the finals of the Wickenheiser cup in 03-04 and 04-05 season.

After high school, Coach Boone attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks where he continued his education in Bachelor of Science Wildlife Biology and Bachelors Business Administration in Marketing.

In his spare time, Coach Boone competes in a variety of dog sports and competitions all over the country with his Siberian Husky, Nanuk and Belgian Malinois, Envy in agility, dock diving, frisbee, protection, and herding.
